Robert Half is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper, and you might be the perfect candidate. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a long-term contract / contract / contract / temporary to full-time opportunity in Jacksonville, Florida. The role will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements. You will also be establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
  • Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
  • Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
  • Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections
  • Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules
  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents
  • Supervising accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Requirements:

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Experience with payroll preferred
  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
  • Proficiency with Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Strong familiarity with Corporate Tax Compliance
  • Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
  • Quickbooks Online experience
  • Bookkeeping Functions experience
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
  • Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
  • 3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
